Its copyright enforcers trying to prevent the maxim: that what technology can first provide (e.g., vinyl records, VHS tape, DVD/BluRay production) it can later take away (e.g., near zero-cost reproduction and distribution). Better to break the current copyright-publishing business models than the security model for the web.
